Arcadis Welcomes Phanie Gapinski as Hospitality Interiors Principal

Gapinski will work with Arcadis leadership to grow the multifamily and hospitality practice in the DMV region

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Arcadis, a global leader in sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy for natural and built environments, has appointed Phanie Gapinski as Principal of its Washington, D.C.–based hospitality design studio.  In addition to Gapinski’s high-level design expertise, she brings a well-connected network that helps deliver world-class solutions and experiences. Her diverse skill set is informed by years spent on the brand side, focusing on experience, development, ownership needs, and operations.

Gapinski’s appointment signals a dynamic step forward for Arcadis as the firm continues to expand its multifamily and hospitality practice. A business-minded, results-driven, and analytical designer, Gapinski is known for translating strategy into business opportunities and execution. She has extensive experience collaborating with owners and stakeholders, representing brand priorities and positioning to deliver impactful spaces on time and within budget.

In her new role, Gapinski will lead efforts across living, residential, multi-family, and hospitality design. She will collaborate with Arcadis leadership to grow the Living Interior Design Studio, providing support to the Living practice across all client and staff locations. Based in Washington, D.C., she will expand the studio locally while also developing interiors expertise and teams across Arcadis offices.

Gapinski is passionate about designing beautiful, functional spaces that deliver memorable experiences, all while keeping a sharp focus on business goals. “I was drawn to Arcadis’ energy, strategic vision, and the team’s passion for driving success and growth in the Living sector,” says Phanie. “With such impressive talent and an award-winning national and global portfolio, my goal is to leverage my experience to grow the regional hospitality interiors team and expand our hospitality and multifamily client base.”

Gapinski joins Arcadis from Marriott International, where she served as Director of Interior Design. She brings a proven track record of leading interiors for new build, conversion, and renovation projects for upscale hospitality brands, successfully managing multiple complex initiatives. Notable projects from Gapinski’s time at Marriott International include: Marriott Bethesda Downtown, Washington Marriott Capitol Hill, Marriott Owings Mills Metro Center, UNC Charlotte Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, VEA Newport Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, Marriott San Antonio Airport, Marriott Atlanta Marquis, Marriott DC Marquis, Oshkosh Marriott Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center, Marriott Long Beach Downtown.
