Vital federal investment supports organization’s work in underserved communities nationwide
Washington, D.C. – The Rural Community Assistance Partnership Incorporated (RCAP) has been awarded $17 million from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as part of the agency’s Rural, Small and Tribal Clean Water Technical Assistance Grant Program. The funding supports RCAP’s ongoing mission to deliver training, guidance and resources to rural regions across the nation with water infrastructure needs.
“We are very excited to work with EPA to further the capacity building efforts of rural and tribal utilities across the nation,” said RCAP CEO Olga Morales-Pate. “As a national leader in rural wastewater technical assistance, RCAP is positioned to continue to provide customized assistance to small utilities, particularly those who need it most. We appreciate and support EPA’s commitment to improve the quality of life of those who call rural America home.”
This award is part of EPA’s broader effort to help communities overcome longstanding wastewater challenges, particularly in underserved and overburdened areas. The technical assistance programs supported through Treatment Works cover a range of support areas, from navigating complex funding programs to helping towns maintain water system compliance, and more.
Using this vital federal investment, RCAP will continue to work with rural communities to ensure they have the tools and guidance needed to improve their water infrastructure and foster long-term prosperity.
