The University of Central Florida (UCF) will host the first round of the Lunabotics Challenge on May 16-19, with more than 40 teams competing to design autonomous lunar vehicles that will effectively function in a simulated lunar environment that resembles the moon. The top 10 teams from the first round will advance to the next competition phase at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on May 20-22. Cutting-edge companies are helping behind the scenes with innovative technology that will help analyze how student teams perform, as well as with investments in STEM education.
Allen3D and Allen & Company have a longstanding sponsorship of this event with UCF, NASA, and Riegl USA, with hardware, software, and LiDAR technology for this contest.
“It’s important to develop the next generation of engineers and designers through these types of partnerships and investments to advance the industry,” said Kyle Binni at Allen3D and Allen & Company. “These partnerships are extremely important for our industry as the younger generations gain valuable knowledge to drive innovation forward.”
