Promotion Underscores Council’s Commitment to Advocate for America’s Engineering Industry
Washington, D.C. — The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Nando Gomez to Senior Vice President, Energy and External Affairs.
Since joining ACEC in September 2022, Nando has played an essential role in advancing the Council’s energy policy initiatives. In his new role, Nando will continue to oversee energy policy, while also forging new relationships ensuring the Council remains at the forefront of advancing policies that support the business voice of America’s engineering industry.
Nando’s promotion will amplify the Council’s established advocacy strength by building a broad and deep roster of meaningful new contacts to help ACEC succeed on behalf of its member firms.
“No matter how much change comes to Washington, one thing remains constant; your success in advocacy rests on what you know and who you know,” said Linda Bauer Darr, President and CEO of ACEC. “We have a great team of experts working to understand the new policy underpinnings taking shape, and Nando will help open new doors to ensure our industry’s voice is heard by the right people.”
Prior to joining ACEC, Nando managed Government Relations for the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM), where he represented the interests of the refinery and petrochemical industry. His career on Capitol Hill began as Legislative Director to Congressman Martin Frost (D-TX), followed by a distinguished tenure as Chief of Staff to Congressman Solomon Ortiz (D-TX).
Following his time on the Hill, Nando brought his policy expertise to Honeywell International, where he spent nearly a decade managing government relations and building strong partnerships across industries.
A proud Texan and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Nando now resides in Maryland with his wife, Kristy, and their two sons.
