New board members bring extensive expertise in technology services, commercial management, and process engineering to support energy transition challenges<\/em><\/p>\n

London, 14 April 2025 \u2014<\/strong> The Energy Industries Council (EIC), the global energy trade association and provider of data, analytics and events, has announced the appointment of three senior energy leaders to its Board of Directors. The new board members bring a wealth of experience across technology services, commercial management<\/em>, and process engineering. Along with existing board members, they strengthen EIC\u2019s ability to represent the energy supply chain globally and support the transition to net zero.<\/p>\n

Stuart Broadley, CEO of the EIC, welcomed the appointments:
\n\u201cWe are delighted to welcome James, Gareth, and Helen to the EIC Board. Each brings extensive experience across key parts of the energy value chain, from engineering and operations to commercial leadership. Their collective knowledge will further strengthen our ability to guide our members through the complexities of international trade and the energy transition, ensuring that the voice of the supply chain continues to be heard at the highest levels.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new board members are:<\/em><\/p>\n

James Phipps, Managing Director, Cokebusters<\/strong>
\nJames Phipps said, \u201cThe EIC is a tremendous advocate for the energy sector. I\u2019m very much looking forward to playing my part, particularly on behalf of SMEs, as well as continuing to encourage the next generation of engineers and scientists to join the international energy community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gareth Gregory, Director, Commercial, Offshore Middle East, McDermott<\/strong>
\nGareth Gregory commented, \u201cBy joining the EIC\u2019s Board, I hope to contribute meaningfully to the Council\u2019s important work. The EIC performs a unique and pivotal role in contemporary energy \u2013 as individuals, governments, NGOs and companies all contemplate the future of energy and grapple with the dilemma of satisfying modern world expectations whilst meeting global sustainability imperatives, the EIC has a critical role to play across the entire energy spectrum by leveraging its connections to companies at the cutting edge of new technologies, and new thinking.\u201d<\/p>\n

Helen Kilbride, Senior Process Director, Fluor Ltd<\/strong>
\nHelen Kilbride said, \u201cThe EIC is uniquely placed to bring together the expertise and ambition of the global energy supply chain. I look forward to collaborating with fellow board members and supporting the EIC\u2019s strategic objectives by contributing my experience in Engineering and Project Execution to help our industry deliver innovative, sustainable, efficient, and responsible energy projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

Biographies:<\/strong><\/p>\n

James Phipps<\/strong> is Managing Director of Cokebusters, a technology services company specialising in mechanical cleaning, intelligent pigging, and integrity management of small-diameter pressure tubing networks. A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Corrosion, James holds a degree in Metallurgy and graduated from the Corrosion & Protection Centre in 1993. He previously held senior roles at Mott MacDonald, American Bureau of Shipping, and Petrofac before joining Cokebusters in 2020. Cokebusters won EIC\u2019s \u201cCompany of the Year\u201d at the World Energy Supply Chain Awards in 2023.<\/p>\n

Gareth Gregory<\/strong> is Director, Commercial, Offshore Middle East at McDermott. With over 30 years of experience, Gareth began his career in the Steelworks before moving into offshore Oil & Gas in Engineering and Project Management roles in Norway, Holland, Brazil, Singapore, and the GCC. Based in Dubai since 2009, he has held multiple leadership roles supporting operations and offshore projects across the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Helen Kilbride <\/strong>is Senior Process Director at Fluor Ltd, serving as the company\u2019s global functional lead for Process Technology. She has over 30 years of experience in the EPC industry, specialising in process engineering and project delivery for upstream and downstream facilities, including carbon capture. Helen is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). Fluor Ltd won the London EIC Award for Collaboration in 2023.<\/p>\n
